For a french press you should be using a coarsely ground coffee bean, approximately the same texture as sea salt or ground black pepper. This will ensure that you are receiving the best quality possible.
Coffee is a personal process and should therefore be tailored to our own personal preferences. Our Brew Guides serve as a starting point to ensure you are getting the most out of your coffee and receiving the highest quality product possible.
Measure out and grind your coffee beans. We recommend using 2 tbsp of coffee per 1 cup of water.
Whilst grinding your coffee beans, heat your water.
Add both the heated water and the ground coffee to your french press, stirring vigorously ensuring to leave no dry spots.
Place the lid on your french press but do not press down. Allow the coffee to steep for 4-6 minutes.
Plunge the press all the way down and enjoy.
Tip: If you find that your coffee needs a bit more of a punch or is lacking in flavour, try a slightly less coarse grind on your beans.
